Swedish lumber price continues to fall

In October, the Swedish lumber price index fell by 15 percentage points compared to the previous month and by 82 percentage points year on year.

According to Statistics Sweden, the softwood lumber price index was at 186.7% in the month of October (index 2020= 100%). In 2020, it was at 104.7% and in the pre-pandemic year of 2019, it had been at 97.5%. From January 2020 (96%) to August 2021 (202.7%), the price index saw a constant upward trend.
