Japanese softwood lumber imports on the decrease

Main supplier Canada saw its softwood lumber shipments rise by 6% to 1 million m³. Russia, which follows in second place, sold a total of 653,000 m³, recording a year-on-year decrease of 10%. Sweden, the number three supplying country, shipped 600,000 m³ of softwood lumber to Japan, which is 13% less than compared to 2020.

From January to October, import volumes from Austria fell by 10% year on year to 177,000 m³.
