The purchase includes six sawmills in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. All machines, inventory and real estate will also be taken over.

In 2020, Rayonier Advanced Materials produced 604 million bft (970,000 m³ a year on 2-by-4 basis) at its production sites. The company gives planned investments in cellulose production (cellulose percentage >90%) as one reason for selling the facilities. According to CEO Paul G. Boynton, debt reduction is another reason.

Last year, Rayonier generated sales worth $ 1.7 billion at its production sites in the US, Canada and France.
