With a share of over 60%, China is Russia's top market for softwood lumber. This means that China bought another 14% more than in the same period last year still (13.05 million m³). While exports to Uzbekistan declined by 11% to 1.6 million m³, exports to Egypt (799,000; +2%) and Japan (674,000; +14%) grew. Azerbaijan bought 9% less with a total amount of 594,000 m³.

For comparison's sake: In 2017, Russia exported 18.8 million m³ of softwood lumber between January and August, in 2016 during the same period 17 million m³.
