Softwood sawn timber exports to China rose from 5 to 6.2 million m³, i.e. by 22.6%, making China the number one market for Russia.
Uzbekistan comes in second with about 755,000 m³ despite a decrease of 10.3% compared to the first three months of 2018 (841,000 m³). Exports to Egypt grew by 28.5% to 416,000 m³ (2018: 324,000 m³).
In the first quarter of this year, Russian exports to Iran fell by 20.2% from 246,000 m³ in 2018 to only 196,000 m³ in 2019.
