Rising softwood lumber exports

Between January and August, Russia exported 20 million m³ of softwood lumber. Compared to the same period last year, the growth rate is 7%. The largest increases were registered for neighboring countries.

Most important customer for Russian exports was China by far (11.5 million m³; +6%). Big changes were observed for deliveries going to Uzbekistan (1.8 million m³; +21%), Egypt (786,000 m³; +27%) and Azerbaijan (654,000 m³; +18%):

Exports to Germany, on the other hand, showed a significant decline. In comparison to the same period last year, -12% goods were delivered to the Central European state. The export volume totaled 313,000 m³.
