In May, Sweden's softwood lumber sawmills exported 18,000 m³ less to Great Britain which means a decline of 2% totaling 1.1 million m³. Deliveries to China (-12%; 364,000 m³), Egypt (-19%; 361,000 m³), and Norway (-11%; 359,000 m³) dropped as well.
Overall however, exports of softwood lumber and planed goods remained stable. Compared to the previous month, international exports declined by 1%. The volume losses could be compensated by additional sales to Algeria (+82%; +114,000 m³; 253,000 m³) and the Netherlands (+10%; +40,000 m³; 453,000 m³).
