Approaching a record price in the US

After a short phase of minimal weakening, the prices for US softwood lumber started rising again last week.

A plus of US-$10 was yielded free Great Lakes region. With a level of US-$612/1000 bft, the price is more than US-$50 above last year's level.

With a strengthened US dollar (US-$ 1.22/€), European exporters currently receive €322/m³, which is €7/m³ more than in the previous week, and €43/m³ more than last year. In other words: The prices are approaching their all-time high of €328/m³ again that was yielded at the end of February.
