The Austrian Timber Industry Association identified a log price index value of 172.98% (base: January 2001 = 100%) for the month of July. Compared to June, the index saw a decrease of 9.84 percentage points. In that month, the index value had reached its highest level since records began in 2001, i.e. 182.82%. Compared to July 2021, an increase of 18.27 percentage points was recorded.
The lumber price index fell sharply in July, by 16.34 percentage points month-on-month to 222.08%. Compared to July 2021, when the index value was at 242.36%, it saw a decrease of 20.28 percentage points.
