The log price of the main type of tree, i.e. spruce, was at 49.9 €/m³ in the second quarter. This corresponds to a 15% decrease compared to the same period of 2019 (58.6 €/m³). In the first quarter of 2019, the main assortment cost 61.8 €/m³. The price of C-quality spruce III fell by 17% from 50.7 €/m³ in the second quarter of 2019 to 42.3 €/m³ this year. According to CZSO, the slightest relative decrease was recorded with industrial spruce III, D with -10% year on year and a price of 29.9 €/m³. In the first quarter of 2019, the industrial wood price was at 35.7 €/m³ (-16%).
In percentage terms, prices of the three spruce assortments only saw single-digit decreases compared to the first quarter. The prices of spruce, AB, spruce, C and spruce, D fell by 5%, 7% and 3%, respectively.
In 2019, 32.6 million m³ of logs without bark were harvested, 31 million m³ of which were damaged wood. 90% of the harvested wood was spruce and 4% was pine.
