Analysis: Accumulation of damaged wood so far and outlook

On 18 June, Holzkurier editor in chief Gerd Ebner held a speech at the Global Log & Lumber Conference with the title “Europe: Spruce Barkbeetle & Damaged Timber Outlook”.

Among other things, the speech is based on Holzkurier’s analysis of the accumulation of damaged wood in Central Europe. In the outlook, new constructions or expansions of existing sawmills in this bigger region as well as changes on the global timber market were discussed as well. Central Europe is becoming more and more competitive on mass markets, such as China or the US.
