6.57 million m³ of softwood logs were exported from January to November 2019. Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports almost doubled (+90%). There was an enormous increase of nearly 850% in sales to China which reached a total of 2.79 million m³.
With the exception of Austria (1.4 million m³; -27%) and France (102,000 m³; -4%), Germany exported more softwood logs to all other main foreign markets. This is according to Destatis. Belgium received around 923,000 m³ (+138%) and Sweden 190,000 m³ of softwood logs (+338%).
