Export value of silvicultural products increased

In the first ten months of 2018, the export value amounted to €11.11 billion.

In terms of volume, the Scandinavian country exported 165,000 m³. The bigger part of deliveries was observed for the segments pulp and industrial wood as well as wood chips (79,000 m³). Roundwood in sawn timber quality (49,000 m³) and other products (37,000 m³) were on ranks two and three.

The Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) announced in a press release that this value for October exports was met with an import volume of 1.1 million m³. Here, pulp and industrial wood as well as wood chips were most popular with a share of 1 million m³. 67,000 m³ of the total volume were roundwood in sawn timber quality and 39,000 m³ other products. In the averaged 5 year comparison, wood imports in the first ten months of 2018 increased by 11% to 9.37 million m³.
