Finally, a ray of hope at the end of the export tunnel: Germany delivered more beech logwood in July than in the same period last year. As data by Destatis indicate, an increase of 5% (582,500 sm³) could be generated. Next to top customers such as China (+6%; 277,430 sm³) and Denmark (+7%; 17,600 sm³), Austria claimed 2nd place. The neighbor's import volume totaled solid 30% (162,300 sm³) of beech logwood in July. Also France's demand increased considerably during the summer months: +56% from 6,582 to 10,250 sm³.

Setbacks were observed for India. Exports to Southeast Asia were 23% weaker compared to last year (17,600 sm³). A similar situation was reported for Switzerland (-4%; 17,230 sm³) and Sweden (-83%; from 46,300 sm³ to 7,890 sm³) in July. With this, the Scandinavian kingdom starts the 2H on one of the last export ranks only.
