German pellet production up by 10%

Last year, German companies produced a total of 3.1 million tons of pellets. This is according to the German Wood Fuel and Pellets Association (DEPV). Compared to 2019, output increased by nearly 10%. That year, the DEPV recorded a production of 2.821 million tons of pellets. Since 2016, when a little over 1.9 million tons were produced, output has been growing year after year.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, pellet production amounted to 806,000 tons, which is the biggest quantity ever recorded in a single quarter. Compared to the previous quarter (792,000 tons), output grew by another 1.7%. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2019 (752,000 tons), production saw a 7.2% increase.
