Pellet prices below last year’s levels

In the single countries of the DACH region, neutralized pellet prices saw 2 to 6% decreases in April.

In Austria, the neutralized pellet price (without VAT, transport and handling costs) is at 172.5 €/ton in April. Compared to March, it fell by 5.7%. Compared to the same month of 2019, the price was down by 0.9%.

In Germany, pellets cost 168.9 €/ton in April, which corresponds to a decrease of 4.3% compared to last month and of 2.7% compared to April 2019.

In Switzerland, the neutralized pellet price is at 222 €/ton (-2.1 €/t month on month, +5.1 €/ton year on year). The ten-year average price, which is less prone to currency fluctuations, is at 201.1 €/ton in April. This corresponds to a decrease of 2.7% compared to last month and to an increase of 2.7% compared to April 2019.
