Japan imports more laminated timber

In four months, Japan bought 120,000 m³ of glulam and CLT from Finland – i.e. mainly from Stora Enso. This is a 20% increase compared to the same period of 2019. Austria shipped nearly 40,000 m³ (+16%) to Japan – also thanks to Stora Enso.

Romania (mainly HS Timber) saw its shipments to Japan rise by 8% to 55,000 m³ in the period January to April.

In total, Japan imported 310,000 m³ of glulam and CLT which is 13% more than last year according to Statistics of Japan.
